Contract Details[]

CIF-15
Objectives:

Briefing[]

Stardust: The Federation’s interest in Cascadia has always been clear, it’s as clear today as it was when we went into an association with them over half a century ago: Power. Our cordium deposits has made Cascadia an interest of the core Federation states perpetually and because of that, we know exactly how to fight back. Even though we’ve lost many key territories as Federation forces land in-country, we have a plan on how to cripple their advances and to make them reevaluate their entire purpose here.
Briefer: Mercenary forces throughout Cascadia are being tasked to attack geothermal processing and storage facilities as the allied main force maintains our frontline. By striking these targets, the Federation will have to direct forces otherwise concentrated on the frontline to defending these key resource points. Hitman Team, Sicario will be tasked to hit separate facilities in the Yellowstone Exclusion Zone, your area of operation will be one of the main storage facilities along the Apodock Fracture. Fly in, destroy as much of the facility as you can, and RTB before reinforcements respond en masse. It’s suggested that you bring a well-rounded loadout on this one, once the Federation knows what we’re doing, they’re going to be retaliating hard.

Mission Dialogue[]

Start[]

Federation Facility Chief: We’ve got leakers, aircraft type unknown, crossing the border, send a scramble to the nearest QRF.
AWACS | Galaxy: We’ve got alarms raising at every airbase within response range, you’re on the clock, so make it snappy.
Hitman 2 | Diplomat: Don’t rush perfection, Galaxy, especially when all you have to do is sit back and watch.
AWACS | Galaxy: Hey, babysitting is easy money, I’m not complaining.

  • Hitman 1 WSO | Prez: All I need is ten minutes with you, Monarch, and I'm in the black for the week, let’s make the cash flow.

AWACS | Galaxy: Alright, ramblers, let’s get rambling, anything and everything is free for the taking.

Federation Worker: We’re getting reports from power plants up and down Cascadia, small flights of aircraft slipping past our frontline and hitting the geothermal industry.
Federation Ground Unit: Damn them for stretching the frontline so far, the rebels slipped through!

Hitman 3 | Comic: [laughs] Popping cordium tanks is kinda fun.
Hitman 2 | Diplomat: The cordium we’re popping inside of them cost more than what they’re paying us.
AWACS | Galaxy: It’s harder to create than it is to destroy, Hitman 2.

[note 1]

Federation HQ: Crimson Team, flow 000 towards Yellowstone, priority orders.
Crimson 1: [sighs] We’re spent on fuel and ammo, give us a reason, HQ.
Federation HQ: HVT designated with the crown has been causing catastrophic damage to the Apodock facilities, they need assistance.
Crimson 1: Roger...inbound.

AWACS | Galaxy: Heads up, QRF has arrived, fast movers, now it’s a fight.
Hitman 3 | Comic: Copy, let’s make some scratch, turning to intercept.

Hitman 3 | Comic: Galaxy, status on the other raids?
AWACS | Galaxy: Well, you’re definitely causing the most chaos out of all of them; Gunsel Squadron has pulled out after hitting their threshold and Assassin is still on station, other merc pilots are also calling in some success.
Hitman 3 | Comic: That’s what I like to hear, let’s go for gold.

Federation Worker: Start dropping the pressure in the conduits, if the tanks go off, we need to make sure we aren’t cooking bombs.
Federation Ground Unit: If you aren’t combat effective against air units, start evacuating, no need to get killed like this.
Federation Ground Unit: Why are the rebels hitting their own resources?!
Federation Ground Unit: Because we’re using it right now!

Federation Facility Chief: Move as much of the inert cordium into secure containers ASAP, follow the procedures.
Federation Facility Chief: While we’re under attack?! 20-point lists are kinda hard to read while we’re being bombed!
Federation Worker: I see them, I see the mark, the wolves and that Crown!
Federation Worker: Send it up the line, It’s that HVT we’ve been hearing so much about!

AWACS | Galaxy: Good stuff, Hitman, operations up and down the fracture are reporting similar successes, keep hammering them until we pull out.

Federation Worker: Dump all stores of the neutralizer agent into the pipelines.
Federation Worker: We insert that much? We won’t know how long it’ll take to get cordium production back up.
Federation Worker: And risk this fracture creating another exclusion zone? I’ll take my chances with the Federation committee, begin the process.

Hitman 2 | Diplomat: Hey Monarch, that arrangement still stand?
AWACS | Galaxy: Arrangement? Are you three making deals without my cut?
Hitman 3 | Comic: Don’t get your panties in a twist, Galaxy, it’s nothin’, just “top earner pays for dinner with all their extra dough,” it’s only fair.
Hitman 2 | Diplomat: Trust me, it was much worse when we were a five-man flight.
AWACS | Galaxy: Well, according to the kill feed, I guess Monarch’s buying tonight, then.

After facilities neutralized[]

MISSION UPDATE

Crimson 1: Crimson Squadron is on station. AWACS, is this them, the mercenaries?
Federation AWACS: Affirmative, drive these mercenaries out of the airspace, Crimson 1.
Crimson 1: Roger, tally ho, let’s chase these dogs off.

Crimson Team Logo
-- CAUTION --
FEDERATION PEACEKEEPER SQUADRON - CRIMSON TEAM

AWACS | Galaxy: We’ve got confirmed ID on these hostiles, we’ve got them pegged as Cascadia’s Federation Peacekeepers.
Hitman 3 | Comic: Ah, frickin’ knew it, I’m outta here.
Hitman 2 | Diplomat: Yeah, nope, I’m Winchester anyway, let’s go!
Cross the blue line heading 000 (NORTH) to escape and return to base. [[ENGAGEMENT NOT ADVISED]]

Crimson Pilot: We’re low on ammo and fuel to engage, Crimson 1, my bird might be sluggish.

Crimson Pilot: Tagging presumed flight lead.
Crimson 1: [laughs]

Federation Worker: Peacekeepers? Who the hell are they?
Federation Facility Chief: Aces; they're pilots who believe in the Federation first over their own country, this is Cascadia’s assigned squadron.

Crimson 1: If you’re unable to fight, disengage, I don’t need mercenary trash getting a lucky shot off.
Crimson 1: Crimson Squadron, keep it simple, they’re not worth the effort.

Crimson 1: The nerve of these mercs, causing all this trouble and then running away.

Crimson Pilot: Crimson 1, are you seeing what I’m seeing?
Crimson 1: Affirmative, 5, the one with the Crown ID?
Crimson Pilot: Yeah, he’s slippery.

Crimson Pilot: This one’s different.
Crimson 1: Perhaps...stay focused.

Crimson Pilot: They’re turning tail. Cowards.
Crimson 1: Don’t get cocky, cornered animals tend to lash out.

MISSION COMPLETE

Federation AWACS: Crimson 1, be advised, if you go any further, you will not have the fuel to RTB.
Crimson 1: Fine, all Crimson elements, break pursuit, push for our waypoint.
Crimson Pilot: Crimson 1, are you alright, sir?[note 2]
Crimson 1: It's nothing... [sighs] Next time.

AWACS | Galaxy: That was too close, guys, RTB, me and the Boss are going to have a chat with Stardust when we get back.

MISSION COMPLETE

Crimson 1: Hrm?! All pilots, disengage, I’m not risking any losses because of this bloodthirsty dog.
Crimson 1: We’ve done all we can, we’re getting out of here.
Crimson Pilot: Seems like the rest of them ran with their tails tucked between their legs.
Crimson 1: Yeah, except for that one.
Crimson Pilot: He put up quite a fight, didn’t he?
Crimson 1: He got lucky.[note 3]
AWACS | Galaxy: Holy hell, you’ve chased them off! [stutters] Monarch, RTB before they get any funny ideas!
Hitman 3 | Comic: What the hell, Monarch, since when did you fight like that?
Hitman 2 | Diplomat: Must’ve missed that class back in the Academy, now let’s go while we have the window.

AWACS | Galaxy: Monarch, unless you’re planning on dying alone out there, RTB ASAP!

Debriefing[]

Stardust: Hitman Team, your efforts in this operation were certainly commendable, if not by my mark, but the fact you garnered attention from the Peacekeepers.
Briefer: Peacekeeping Squadrons are called in by the Federation to absolutely lock down a nation from the sky. They are usually made up of decorated pilots and Federation devotees. Additionally, Crimson Squadron is the Peacekeeping Squadron specifically made to watch Cascadia. Their leader Crimson 1 has become something of a poster boy for the Federation Air Force and it’s not without merit, he’s who many consider to be the top ace in the world, and we can only hope that their arrival in-country doesn’t disrupt further operations. In any case, Sicario’s strike against the geothermal facilities in-country, coinciding with similar efforts theaterwide, has hastened the Federation offensive, buying us time to reorganize and plan for the war forward.
Stardust: Let’s not waste this.
