Gunsel Squadron is Sicario's primary mainline squadron, tasked with conventional warfare compared to Hitman and Assassin Team.

Gunsel Squadron in combat
Gunsel features multiple members, but is usually deployed in a four-plane formation. It was initially led by a former Federation Air Academy instructor. At some point during the conflict, a second Gunsel pilot assumes a leadership position, but it is unknown if this is a true staff replacement, or simply a rotation of deployment-specific leadership.[1]
History[]
Gunsel at Rowsdower
Gunsel Squadron took part in the first half of the Cascadian Conflict, defending Sicario's convoy en route through the Fresnon Range with Hitman Team on February 2, AC 432.[2]
Gunsel over Presidia
They subsequently took part the capture of Rowsdower Air Force Base,[3] the evacuation of Presidia,[4] the raid on Federation resource facilities,[5][6] the destruction of the Solana Communications Array (where some of them covered Circus),[7] and the raid on Wai Mami Port in Sawaiiki. They notably underwent a leadership change at some point before the latter mission.[8]
Gunsel's further actions and final fate in the war are unknown.
Etymology[]
The squadron's name is early 20th-century slang for a tramp's companion. It can also mean "an armed criminal," befitting Sicario's dominant criminal naming theme.
