General Faust, callsign Black Eagle Actual, was a Cascadian Independence Force officer. She was the commanding officer of Black Eagle Division and spearheaded the Invasion of Magadan under the pretext of relieving pressure off the home front.
As the campaign in Magadan turned against her with Magadan reservist able to hold her forces at bay before the main Federation Forces arrived to reinforce and drive the Cascadians out of Magadan, the Cascadian Independence Force orders Faust to withdraw from Magadan. However, Faust goes rogue under her own personal vendetta alongside Cascadian and mercenary volunteers to continuing to destroy the Federation.[2]
She was shot down by Division K-9 over Base Station Zero.[3]
History[]
Pre-Cascadian Conflict[]
General Faust has seen multiple deployments prior to the Cascadian Conflict and was implied to have been involved at the Middle Kingdom of Vietnam and Sumeria when the Federation called upon the Cascadians to assist with contingencies.[3]
General Faust was heavily involved with the Oceanian War in the Federation-Cascadian forces war against the Mercenary Cabal. Her conduct during the war wa mentioned to be catastrophic for the Oceania continent, with herself claiming to have "starved a continent" among other sorts of atrocities and Oceania natives have stated that she and her Cascadian forces did more damage to Oceania than the rest of the Federation combined. Following the defeat of the Mercenary Cabal, Faust and other Cascadian officers discovered "something terrible" in Oceania, something that every mercenary regard as holy. Though the Cascadians seize the concerning item for safekeeping, the implications of the item has left a traumatizing impression upon Faust, realizing that the item could lead to worldwide catastrophy.[3]
Cascadian Conflict[]
General Faust was part of Independence Force HQ, leading the Cascadian Independence Force against the Federation forces.
Invasion of Magadan[]
After Operation Guillotine, which concluded with the decimation of the Federation Air Force and the regional Federation Peacekeepers Crimson Team, General Faust saw an opportunity to strike at the vulnerable Federation territory. Against the protest of Captain J. Griffiths, General Faust was able to convince Independence Force HQ and volunteer Cascadian and mercenary forces to prepare to invade Magadan, the neighboring Federation member state across the Bering Strait. under the pretext of diverting Federation attention away from Cascadia to defending their territory.[4]
Within a month, General Faust had organized a naval flotilla of more than 300 ships in Northern Cascadia, along with 50,000 Cascadian troops for the invasion and mercenaries from Rowsdower Air Force Base providing air cover for the invasion. Faust's forces, composed of the elite Cascadian Marine Guard Black Eagle Division, faced Magadan reservists Division E Unit 6 defending the Magadan beachhead. Veterans of the Oceanian War, Black Eagle Division was able to overrun the Magadan reservists on the ground, but the reservist defensive line and Federation air support by Division K-9 were able to slow down the Cascadian offensive push and clear away the mercenary air power. The decisive moment of the battle was the arrival of Eminent Domain, commanded by Captain Woodward, which closed the distance for a naval shore bombardment of the reservist defensive line, destroying the reservist command post in the first volley. Though the reservist chain of command was re-affirmed with a provisional commander, the Cascadian pressure on the reservists proved too great and the Magadan forces were put into a retreat, though not before Division K-9 and the newly-arrived Federation Peacekeeper Steel Team destroyed the Cascadian Navy's forward picket fleet. Despite the losses, General Faust reassures Captain Woodward that the Cascadian's incursion into Magadan would be worthwhile as she orders her forces to fortify their held territory. [5]
In the days to follow, the Cascadians slowly pushed into Magadan against the reservist defense. As the Cascadians pushed, forces behind the line under General Faust's order began sabotaging Magdan's cordium and geothermal infrastructure, devestating Magadan landscape. However, Faust's forces faced setbacks at the city of Tseliadan where Federation bombers, escorted by Division K-9, eradicated a Cascadian forward operating base that was a jumping point for Cascadian offensives, just as regular Federation Military forces were arriving to reinforce the reservist's defenses.[6] Cascadian's defensive operations against the Federation military were then threatened after Division K-9's flight lead flew in a solo mission through Highway 1 to destroy the Cascadian command base, killing all Cascadian officers ranked Captain and above. The war turned on General Faust and her soldiers as the Federation exploited the loss in command with a major counteroffensive, overruning the Cascadian lines.[7]
Going Rogue[]
With the prospects of the Magadan invasion not going well, Independence Force HQ orders General Faust to withdraw from Magadan and return back to Cascadia. However, unbenowst to Independence Force HQ, General Faust has been secretly planning to continue her war on Magadan and its critical energy infrastructure, prolonging her and her force's stay on Magadan. This comes to head as the Federation military reaches the beachhead where Cascadians were attempting to evacuate by sea, with General Faust organizing both the retreat and gathering volunteers for her mission.[2]
As the Cascadians defended against the Federation offensive, Captain Griffiths chastises General Faust for being several days behind her scheduled withdrawal, reminding her of the Cascadian Independence Force being on the verge to reclaiming Prospero and Presidia and that Faust was needed back home. General Faust renegades against Griffiths' and the Independence Force HQ, believing their vision of a Cascadian Independence War is insufficient to guaranteeing their future against the Federation, and goes rogue on a mission to secure their future, deserting her command post and leaving the Cascadian soldiers still on the Magadan beaches to their fate despite Captain Woodward's attempt to evacuate them.[2]
Base Station Zero[]
With General Faust rogue, both Cascadian Independence Force HQ and the Federation were unable to locate her for several days until Federation intelligence discovered her presence with mercenary and Cascadian airships, including the Cascadian White Fleet, as she planned an air raid against Base Station Zero, Magadan's largest geothermal facility that remained untouched during the Cascadian invasion.[3]
General Faust and the White Fleet, herself at the helm of CDV Roosevelt, appeared after forward screening mercenary fighters arrived over Base Station Zero, being intercepted by Division K-9 flight along with their AWACS Vita. General Faust, recognizing K-9 as the reservist squadron that repelled her land invasion, insults them for being a "pain in [her] ass" and prepares her fanatical airship crew to engage K-9 and destroy Base Station Zero. As the fight prolonged, with K-9's flight of fighters able to evade the numerous batteries onboard CDV Roosevelt, additional Cascadian and mercenary groups that believed in Faust's cause against the Federation joined up with her to fight. [3]
As Faust fought, she states her intent with her mission to burn down the Federation by the destruction of their energy infrastructure and send them back into the Calamity era. She extolled Cascadia's rights and superiority over the Federation, claiming Cascadia was the one country that allowed the Federation to prosper as it did, including mentioning Crimson 1's origin as a Cascadian. She also affirms the length she will go to ensure Cascadia's future, starving out continents to ensure victory and mankind's future, as well as her own children's. Finally, Faust appealed to AWACS Vita as well over the comms, pointing out how the Federation tears apart countries like Oceania for their own gain, only for Vita to spit back that Cascadians did more damage to Oceania than the rest of the Federation combined, with Vita ordering K-9 to kill Faust. During her and CDV Roosevelt crew's radio comms, they pick up radio waves bleeding from Prospero between a Federation officer and the Commander of the Peacekeeprs in Cascadia.[3]
After an extensive fight where in a last-ditch attack, CDV Roosevelt fired off all HPBC on-ship, K-9 ultimately destroyed every component on CDV Roosevelt and shoots it and General Faust down. As her airship falls from the skies, Faust explains how in Oceania, she and officers now in the Independence Force HQ found "something terrible" there during the war. If the war is prolonged, they will use it and make the entire world a battlefield. Her final words is that for mankind to survive, either Cascadia needs to kill all of the Federation, or the Federation needs to kill every last Cascadians. She chuckles manically before the radio falls into static as CDV Roosevelt explodes mid-air, killing her.[3]
