"Clear Skies" is the eighth mission of Project Wingman. The player, flying with Diplomat, shoots down transports bringing supplies to Pacific Federation forces in Cascadia.

Objectives

The targets appear in three waves, with the third much larger than the other two. They consist of a number of C/T-17 transports along with various escorts and two FC-8 AWACS in the third wave. All enemy aircraft must be shot down without shooting down any civilian aircraft. Extreme caution should be exercised when locking on with Multi-Lock Anti-Air Missiles in particular, as a single stray missile could result in mission failure.

Once all targets are eliminated, two named ace F/S-15s and a Littoria-class air battlecruiser appear. Shooting them down completes the mission.

Mercenary difficulty

Gladeus is upgraded to a Mk.III model. A second Littoria Mk.III named Arkblade and two VX-23 aces accompany her and the F/S-15s.

Trivia

• The player can actually damage or even shoot down a civilian plane after the mission is completed, with no penalties incurred.
• The briefing map mistakenly shows the Briggs Range's location in central mainland Cascadia. The mission select screen rectifies this.
• The unused mission description reads: "Cut off enemy supply line by obtaining air superiority in the area."
• The Arkblade is named after the Kickstarter backer of the same name.
