The Arcion-class air heavy cruiser is a medium-sized airship, appearing similar to the Anura-class air cruiser with subtle differences.
Description[]
The Arcion, though similar in size and appearance, should not be confused, for its firepower is significantly a step above. Their paintjobs are also distinct, with the Cascadian Independence Force's Arcions having gray splinter camo and the Pacific Federation one featuring dark gray and blue and orange.
Much like the basic cruiser (except the fully-upgraded Mk.III with five hardpoints), Arcions are armed with just four weapons. However, they are always railguns and SAMs, both of which are incredibly potent airship defenses when combined with each other. As a result, this airship should not be underestimated and be considered second only to (or just as deadly as) the 205-class air battleship.
History[]
The Federation had four Arcion-class airships in Task Force 1, including the Mk.III Fishmonger, all of which were sunk either at port or in the air in the Cascadian Conflict during a raid on Wai Mami Port.[1] The CIF also possessed a Mk.III Arcion, which took part in the failed initial attempt to liberate the trade city of Prospero; its fate in the Cascadian Calamity Event is uncertain.[2]
Two months later, the CIF deployed a Mk.II to participate in a raid on Brite Fortress.[3] Weeks after the raid, the Federation deployed a pair of Mk.II Arcions to the Pacific Ocean as a last-ditch attempt to support the 1st Naval Battlegroup's remnants in their battle against the CIF's naval forces.[4] They had at least one more Mk.II in storage for the Second Battle of Presidia, but it was shot down during the capital's liberation.[5]
